Markus spent a lot of his time growing up looking at things and taking pictures of it; mostly while listening to music. He has made two photography books, one of them is about the Edinburgh underground music scene; it's got a foreword by music writer Ally Brown and a quote from Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison and everything. The other book is about The Union Canal which runs from Edinburgh to Falkirk.

For two years he worked as a photographer for The Skinny magazine in Edinburgh, Scotland. During his time there he somehow managed to get a picture on the front cover, a 'Shot Of The Month' and to be featured in the magazine's Showcase. He is one of a few Fujifilm Student Award 2008 merit winners and is currently nominated for 'Event Photographer of the Year' at The Scottish New Music Industry Awards. - You can vote for him here -

During the Edinburgh Festival of 2010 he had a solo exhibition featuring his work on the Edinburgh underground music scene. Other publications include I-On Edinburgh, The Guardian Online, Spinner UK, The List Online, Stereokill.net and Drowned In Sound. He's got a BA(Hons) in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College of Art and likes to design album covers as much as taking pictures.

He currently lives between UK and Norway and is eagerly awaiting the chance to photograph you or your band.

He has many more pictures over at his flickr page.
